Bergenheim will sign a three-year deal with Swiss league SC Bern on Thursday, TSN's Frank Seravalli reports.

After failing to land an NHL gig out of training camp, Bergenheim's deal with the foreign club reportedly includes a clause that will give him the option to opt out of his contract in order to return to the NHL each offseason, plus his net pay apparently would be similar to what he would make in the NHL. Bergenheim, who has appeared in 506 career NHL games, played for both the Panthers and Wild last season, adding nine goals and 10 assists in 56 games between the two squads.
