President Donald Trump served as the honorary chairman for the 2017 Presidents Cup, and he showed up for the 12 Sunday singles matches about halfway through the afternoon. Trump spent time with PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and former PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem.

Trump then presented the trophy to the United States team and congratulated them on their 10th Presidents Cup win in 12 tries. It's the first time since 2000 a sitting president has been at this event.

"These people are special people," Trump said. "They are born and then they work very hard on this incredible talent. They are very talented folks. They are people who have good hearts. I want to congratulate the Internationals on being amazing. You played really well today, by the way."

Trump then dedicated the trophy to the people of Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, who have all gone through national crises of late.

"I've been watching this from the beginning," added Trump. "I have to say our team USA, wow, did you play well. To both teams congratulations. And to team USA, that was unbelievable playing. You're great champions."
