Dodgers starting pitcher Carlos Frias pitched well on short notice, giving up one earned run on one hit while walking none and striking out two over four innings in a 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
Understandably held to a modest pitch count, Frias retired 12 of 13 batters faced -- giving up a solo home run to Paul Goldschmidt in the second inning. The Dodgers have been cautious with Frias, limiting his workload since his return from the 60-day disabled list. While Frias may not receive another start on the season, there's still time for the right-hander to secure a role in the bullpen.
