Tuesday evening, before beating the Mets at Citi Field (MIA 9, NYM 3), the Marlins had a surprise for outfielder Christian Yelich. The team invited "Saturday Night Live" comedian Pete Davidson to the ballpark to meet Yelich, with whom he shares an unusual resemblance.

Here's a photo of Yelich and Davidson. Yelich is on the left (photo via @Marlins):

I don't know, they don't look that much alike to me. But I can see it though. Similar jaw lines, for example.

"That was pretty cool, man," said Yelich to the Associated Press. "They kind of told me that they were going to set it up a few months ago and I forgot. And I quickly remembered when I saw him jogging out there in my jersey. But it was funny. We kind of do look alike. He had a good time, I had a good time. And it was something different that kind of kept the guys loose."

Davidson got dressed in a separate locker room and joined the Marlins during their pre-game stretching routine. He wore a No. 21 Yelich jersey. Ty Hill, the team's strength and conditioning coach, wasn't in on the joke and tried to kick Davidson out as the team prepared for batting practice.

"They were all telling me like, 'Hey, your brother's here," added Yelich. "I've got two younger brothers. I was like, `What are you talking about?' And then I saw this guy running out in a Yelich jersey and it all kind of hit me and I remembered talking about it with the Marlins people."

Davidson joined Yelich in the outfield to shag fly balls during batting practice -- "He actually caught a fly ball out there," said Yelich -- and even took some swings in the cage.

"If he can hit like Yelly, we'll put him in the lineup," joked manager Dan Jennings. "We'll take him."
