  • Marco Scutaro is the most likely player to be traded on the Rockies, according to The Denver Post’s Troy Renck. The Nationals and Rays both had scouts watching Scutaro recently. Scutaro is attractive to teams because he can play both second base and shortstop. Catcher Ramon Hernandez was a candidate to go to the Mets, but that may not be the case after the Mets’ recent slide. Relievers Rafael Betancourt and Matt Reynolds are also available.
  • The Padres are expected to offer an extension to Huston Street, according to CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman. The deal is expected to be for a year with an option. Street has been fantastic in his first season with the Padres. After overcoming an injury early in the season, Street has a 0.91 ERA, and a 1.24 FIP, in 29.2 innings pitched.
  • Jose Reyes won’t be part of the Marlins' fire-sale, according to the New York Post’s Joel Sherman. Two executives he spoke to said the Marlins will listen on anyone, but want to build their team around Giancarlo Stanton, Logan Morrison and Reyes.
