Through 3 Quarters

The New York Knicks are giving their home crowd exactly what it was hoping to see. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Philadelphia 76ers 90-72 three quarters in.

The Knicks have been riding high on the performance of point guard Kemba Walker, who has shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and has recorded 19 points and four assists. One thing to keep an eye out for is Taj Gibson's foul situation as he currently sits at five.

Philadelphia has been led by power forward Tobias Harris, who so far has 20 points and eight assists along with eight rebounds.

What to Know

The New York Knicks haven't won a matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers since April 12 of 2017, but they'll be looking to end the drought Tuesday. The Knicks and Philadelphia will face off in an Atlantic Division battle at 7:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden. The Sixers will be strutting in after a win while New York will be stumbling in from a defeat.

New York was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Sunday as they fell 110-104 to the Orlando Magic. If the result catches you off guard, it should: New York was far and away the favorite. One thing holding New York back was the mediocre play of shooting guard Evan Fournier, who did not have his best game: he finished with only eight points on 3-for-11 shooting in his 25 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, the Sixers strolled past the Oklahoma City Thunder with points to spare on Sunday, taking the contest 115-103. The Sixers can attribute much of their success to shooting guard Seth Curry, who shot 7-for-10 from beyond the arc and finished with 28 points, and center Joel Embiid, who had 22 points and six assists along with nine rebounds and three blocks.

The Knicks and the Sixers now sit at an identical 2-1. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: New York enters the game with 22.3 fouls drawn per game on average, which is the best in the league. But the Sixers come into the matchup boasting the second fewest fouls per game in the league at 16.3. The ref's whistle might dictate the flow of action in this one.
