Forget Chandler Parsons, this year's star free-agent recruiter is Oklahoma's governor. At a Q&A session on Saturday, Gov. Mary Fallin promised Kevin Durant a seat in her Cabinet if he decides to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder this summer.

From Tulsa World:

"The Thunder did a great job promoting Oklahoma and getting through the playoffs and almost there," Fallin said during a question-and-answer session Saturday at the Oklahoma Press Association's annual convention. "Very, very proud of the Thunder. It was such an exciting time, put Oklahoma on the map every night. It was so fun to see us on national and international TV."

...

"If Kevin Durant thinks about leaving, which I hope he doesn't -- Oklahoma loves Kevin Durant and Kevin Durant loves Oklahoma. But if he'll stay, I'll make him a Cabinet person for health and fitness on my Cabinet," Fallin said.

The announcement drew applause from the room, before Fallin noted that a place among her advisers "might not be as attractive as a couple of million dollars."

Could Durant balance his busy schedule as an NBA player with being responsible for an entire state's health and fitness? How often would he have to report to Fallin? He already has "actor" on his resumé -- yes, Thunderstruck counts -- so I guess he could be interested in adding "government official," too.

Fallin has to hope that "a couple of million dollars" are indeed attractive to Durant. If she is a true Thunder fan, then she already knows that they can offer him more money than any of his other suitors this offseason.
