Orlando unveils its 'Stars' alternate uniform. Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic unveiled a fifth uniform possibility Tuesday for the 2016-17 season with their "Stars" alternate jersey. It's a carbon colored design with the Magic ball streaming across the middle of the uniform, between three stripes stacked on top of each other. But the stripes don't go around the back of the uniform. The back is just a plain color with name and number as the stripes end mid-armpit.

The Magic say the jersey and stars "represent teamwork, tradition, and toughness -- the pillars of the past and the fight of the future." Here is the explanation from the Orlando press release:

The Orlando Magic unveiled today new alternate "Stars" uniforms, which will serve as the team's fifth uniform to go along with their home white, road blue, alternate road black pinstripe and the Pride uniforms. The sleeveless, carbon-colored Stars jersey is made from 60 percent recycled materials, designed with lightweight, sweat-wicking technology and engineered mesh in targeted ventilation zones. The "star" of the new jersey remains the ball swoosh placed front and center, serving as the focal point. Along the hem of the shorts, the iconic star also makes a return to the uniform. The jersey and the stars represent teamwork, tradition and toughness - the pillars of the past and the fight of the future.

The uniforms were developed through a collaborative effort between the team, the NBA and adidas. The uniform pays homage to the Magic's iconic stars that have been part of the team's logo lineage, representing the team's tradition and rich history. The stars were originally featured prominently as replacements for the letter "a" in both "Orlando" and "Magic" within the team's first logo in 1989. The stars have remained a part of the Magic's logo throughout the years, including the team's logo changes in 2000 and 2010.

Through the very scientific manner of responses I saw on social media, the uniforms weren't all that well received, but some fans did seem to like the simplicity of it all. Probably need to see it with the shorts on their actual players before knowing for sure if those select games will have the uniforms dazzling us or making us just be happy they don't include the sleeves.
