After the Los Angeles Lakers got trounced by the Boston Celtics last Friday, Nick Young was down in the locker room, shaking his head. On Sunday, he revealed he was upset with the loss after a member of the Celtics talking trash to him. Apparently, Jared Sullinger was quite mouthy as the Celtics ran up a 23-point-lead before winning by 17.
“I don’t like when people talk trash and then they get the W after and they feel like they did something,” Young said Sunday. “I don’t like that feeling.”
Who was talking trash?
“Jared Sullinger,” Young said, mentioning the Celtics forward. “Me and him got into it. I just didn't like that.”

Sullinger had 17 points and 13 rebounds on 5-of-9 shooting and was a plus-19, while Young shot a very Nick-Young-ish 5-of-14 for 16 points and was a minus-one. He shot 14 times in 22 minutes off the bench which is, you know, swaggy, or whatever.
It's not so much that Nick Young is their best player, or that he's getting trash talked by a young player on a sub-.500 team (in the East). It's that it's actually affecting him.
But don't worry, Young's going to be just fine.
“I’m doing all right, man,” he said. “I was a little messed up the other day. I’ll be all right, man. Once we get a win or two, I’ll be all right.”
The Lakers then turned around and lost to the Pelicans in a blowout. They face the Kings on Tuesday, who are without Boogie Cousins.
