Who's Playing

Cleveland @ New York

Current Records: Cleveland 42-35; New York 34-43

What to Know

The New York Knicks will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at 1 p.m. ET Saturday at Madison Square Garden after having had a few days off. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, the Knicks lost to the Charlotte Hornets at home by a decisive 125-114 margin. A silver lining for New York was the play of shooting guard Evan Fournier, who shot 6-for-8 from beyond the arc and finished with 30 points. Fournier's performance made up for a slower matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Meanwhile, a win for Cleveland just wasn't in the stars on Thursday as the team never even grasped a temporary lead. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 131-107 walloping at the Atlanta Hawks' hands. The Cavaliers were down 100-75 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Cleveland's loss came about despite a quality game from small forward Cedi Osman, who had 21 points in addition to six boards.

The Knicks are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Oklahoma City Thunder Feb. 14 easily too and instead slipped up with a 127-123. In other words, don't count Cleveland out just yet.
