With the 21st pick in the first round, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Texas A&M tackle Cedric Ogbuehi

CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco gave the Bengals a B- for the pick:

They said all along that they would pick a player who wouldn't start this year. And they did. It gives him time for him to recover from the ACL.

Ogbuehi was one of the top tackles coming into the 2014 season prior to tearing his ACL early in the year. He has positional versatility and will be able to play tackle or guard once he recovers from his knee injury. This pick won't help the Bengals immediately, but it will give them some offensive line depth for the future and they're taking a chance on a guy with great upside should he come back 100% from the injury.

The Bengals had the opportunity to take Bud Dupree here and really get a great pass rusher to bolster their defensive line, but they stuck with their plan and took an offensive lineman.

For an on-field scouting report, we have this tidbit from Rob Rang and Dane Brugler:

"Blessed with prototypical traits for today's tackle. Possesses broad shoulders, a trim middle and excellent first-step quickness and balance. He looks the part of a future NFL Pro Bowler with his easy knee bend and lateral agility. Ogbuehi has vines for arms and strong hands to latch and control, as well as the core flexibility to anchor. Upper-body technique hasn't improved, with inconsistent hand placement and a streaky punch, leaving him off-balance and allowing rushers to attack his breastplate. Some passivity to his game, preferring to "catch" rather than control opponents. By over-setting on his initial kick-slide, he leaves his chest plate open to power rushes and will occasionally lean into defenders rather than keeping his feet shuffling."

According to Jimmy Hassell, Ogbuehi's deal will be worth $7.629 million guaranteed over four years with $4.384 million in signing bonus.
