Adele says the NFL asked her to perform at the Super Bowl. USATSI

Hello. Is it a Super Bowl halftime show performer you're looking for? Because if so, you're going to have to find someone other than Adele.

The award-winning singer-songwriter was approached for the gig, but turned it down. "First of all, I'm not doing the Super Bowl," she told the Los Angeles crowd during a recent show, per "I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don't really -- I can't dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no."

As you can hear at the end of that clip, she did leave the door open for a halftime show performance in the future. "Maybe next time," she said.

She's certainly correct that the Super Bowl halftime show is not about music. It's about spectacle. And dancing sharks. And animatronic tigers. And Missy Elliott putting it down. And Bruno Mars wearing gigantic chains. And making fun of Coldplay. And Beyonce winning the Internet.

Not only that, but as Katy Perry said in the wake of her performance in 2015: "We love this opportunity, but once you decide you're gonna do the Super Bowl, you're gonna have no ****ing life for six months. It is the biggest thing. Anyone that's ever done it has been scared ****less. You stay off the Internet for the five days afterward."

Adele apparently is not down for that. Yet. Maybe next time.
