Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin has been officially ruled out for the Lions game, coach Pete Carroll announced Wednesday.

Baldwin suffered a high ankle sprain in the Seahawks Week 7 loss to San Francisco and Carroll said the second-year receiver might miss more than Sunday's game in Detroit.

"Unfortunately, he's going to be a couple weeks," Carroll said. "That's going to be a change for us because we were just getting him going."

Last year as a rookie, Baldwin led the team in receiving, but he's struggled this season thanks in large part to several nagging injuries. Baldwin has been slowed by a hamstring injury and a shoulder injury, which kept him out of the Seahawks Week 3 win over Green Bay.

Baldwin had come on in recent weeks though; 126 of his 149 receiving yards this season were tallied in the Seahawks last three games, including a season-high 74 in Seattle's Oct. 14 win over New England.

With Baldwin out, Charly Martin and Golden Tate will fill-in at the slot, Carroll said.

Injury report: Besides Baldwin, DT Jason Jones (ankle) and CB Byron Maxwell (hamstring) were also non-participants in Wednesday's practice. Maxwell's hamstring kept him out of Thursday night's loss to San Francisco. As for Jones, Carroll said the ankle injury would "slow" him up, but he should be back at practice sometime this week. RG John Moffitt (knee) was a limited participant in practice, which is actually a step forward for Moffitt. The starting guard hasn't played since the Seahawks Week 3 win over the Packers.
