This has been the Spring and Summer of the parody music video. Mostly the smash pop song Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen has been the subject of way too many remakes -- it just lends itself so well to amateur Weird Als of the world. You know it's big when Sesame Street has Cookie Monster make a parody version.

But that's not the only song this summer that has been popular for remakes. You have undoubtedly also heard the song Somebody that I Used to Know by Gotye featuring Kimbra. The parodies of that one have included The Star Wars that I Used to Know among many, many others.

Sorry to the Sci-Fi fans out there, but this version that just came out from tortured Maple Leafs fan Andrew Damelin is way better. Sure, it doesn't have the production value but song itself ... way funnier.

It's hard to pick the highlight of the whole song for me, the Leafs have just given their fans so much ammunition to use recently. The rhyming of Dion Phaneuf with "Enuf" did get a good chuckle out of me, though.

Oh, and of course this post wouldn't be complete without props going to the body artist who painted Kerry Fraser on Damelin's back for the slightly terrifying Falsetto part. It's even more impressive when you consider it was likely down strictly from memory as Fraser is burnt into all Leafs fans' minds.

Just speaking personally, I don't care which teams do well and which don't. However I can certainly say I don't mind the Leafs being bad because it lends to some awesome self-deprecating humor from fans like Damelin and the very funny @DownGoesBrown, who of course shared this Leafs video on Friday. He understands the pain.
