After sharing the ice with teammate Jonathan Toews in a recent GoPro video, Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane got the ice all to himself to show off the stickhandling skills that helped him become one of the league’s biggest stars.

Perhaps you’ll recall the insane stickhandling video Kane did for Bauer Hockey a few years back? That was amazing, but thanks to the GoPro footage, we now know what that looks like from Kane’s perspective. And the results are pretty incredible.

Watching the quick stick work of Kane as he weaves effortlessly through a maze of pucks makes you appreciate the skill level the Blackhawks star has been bringing to the NHL since he entered the league. He may have overtaken Pavel Datsyuk as the best stickhandler in the game today and may end up getting some competition in the next few years from rookies Johnny Gaudreau and Jonathan Drouin. It’s an exciting time to be a hockey fan with players as skilled as these.

There are a lot of guys in the league that can skate hard, score goals and make great plays, but there are very, very few that can stickhandle like Kane. Seeing it up close like this makes you realize just how impressive it all is.

It also probably isn’t making Blackhawks fans feel too good about the fact that the dazzling stickhandler isn’t on the ice right now. Kane remains on the shelf after fracturing his clavicle in late February. He is expected to be out through at least the first two rounds of the playoffs if the Blackhawks make it past that point.

Despite his extended absence, Kane is still the Blackhawks’ leading scorer with 64 points from before he got hurt.
