  • Karri Ramo: Inks deal with Pelicans

Ramo will head overseas to play with the Lahti Pelicans of the Finnish Liiga, Juha Hiitela of the Professional Hockey Writers Association reports.

Ramo's contract does have an NHL clause that would let him get out of the deal should an opening become available back in North America. However, considering that the netminder has failed to secure a job halfway through the season, it seems doubtful that any NHL job offer is forthcoming.

  • Karri Ramo: Released from PTO with Marlies

Ramo was released from his professional tryout by the Toronto Marlies of the AHL on Tuesday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Ramo is trying to make his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will continue to rehab the injury in Finland. He might get another look from some organization in the future, but it's clear he isn't close to returning to NHL game action.

  • Karri Ramo: Signs PTO with minor league team

Ramo inked a professional tryout agreement with AHL Toronto on Tuesday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Ramo has been linked with the Maple Leafs all season, including skating with them at practice while still a free agent. The netminder is expected to suit up for a few games in the minors, essentially to show the organization he's healthy, and he appears on track to agree to a contract with the Leafs. The first step in this process came Monday when current backup Jhonas Enroth was placed on waivers. That said, Ramo is free to sign with any team while on his PTO, so owners will want to monitor this situation closely until this deal is signed, sealed and delivered.

  • Karri Ramo: Subtly linked to Leafs

While he remains unsigned, the Maple Leafs allowed Ramo to practice with the team last Friday, The Canadian Press reports.

The former Flames netminder suffered a torn ACL and had meniscus damage after leaving a game against the Sharks upon colliding with forward Joonas Donskoi this past February, as part of the 2015-16 season. Ramo reportedly has ties with Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello, which explains how he made his way into a practice with the club. We're barely over a month into the season, yet a few teams could already use extra insurance between posts -- Arizona and Los Angeles come to mind -- making it disconcerting that Ramo hasn't found work. It remains to be seen if he will earn an extended look in Toronto.

  • Flames' Karri Ramo: Done for season

Ramo (lower body) will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign due to a torn ACL and meniscus damage, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The FAN reports.

Ramo is slated to undergo surgery later in the week, and is expected to require 6-to-8 months of recovery time. The primary netminder for much of the season, he finished the 2015-16 campaign on a sour note, leaving Feb. 11's game against the Sharks having allowed five goals on 34 shots. over the duration, he compiled a 17-18-1 record to go along with a 2.63 GAA and .909 save percentage this season, in line with numbers from his past efforts. In his stead, Jonas Hiller will likely be leaned on the rest of the way, while Joni Ortio should figure into the mix as well. The 29-year-old Ramo enters the offseason bound for free agency once again after inking just a one-year deal with the Flames last June, and he'll need to prove his health before teams take a look at the Finn. While his numbers aren't eye-popping, there's still a chance the Finn could end up in a starting role in 2016-17, but that should work itself out when Ramo signs the dotted line.

  • Flames' Karri Ramo: Headed for MRI Scanner

Ramo (lower body) will likely have an MRI done over the next couple days, Roger Millions of Sportsnet Calgary reports.

The fear is that Ramo may have suffered knee ligament damage after colliding with Sharks forward Joonas Donskoi in a game Feb. 11. Jonas Hiller will likely draw the majority of the goaltender starts in Ramo's abscence, with Joni Ortio backing him up.

Ramo has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and will stay in Calgary to undergo further evaluation, John Shannon of Sportsnet reports.

Ramo sustained the injury in Thursday's contest after colliding with Sharks forward Joonas Donskoi. He was promptly ruled out of Friday's game against the Coyotes and won't be eligible to return until Feb. 21 due to his placement on IR. Expect the Flames to summon a player from the minors to join Jonas Hiller as the only other healthy netminder on the active roster.

Ramo will receive the start in net Thursday against the Sharks, Derek Willis of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Ramo stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced in his last start Feb. 5 against the Blue Jackets, but it wasn't enough to emerge victorious. Following two nights off in favor of Jonas Hiller, Ramo will return between the pipes in the first game of a back-to-back set Thursday. In his return to the crease, Ramo will need to prepare for a Sharks club that's been inconsistent offensively of late, averaging just 2.25 goals per game in February.

Ramo allowed two goals on 18 shots in Friday's loss to Columbus.

Not a great night for Ramo, who was outdueled by the much busier Joonas Korpisalo. Ramo falls to 17-18-0 on the season with a .911 save percentage. While he's had some strong appearances of late, Ramo has managed just two wins in his last eight games and has been plagued with consistency issues, so exhibit caution before deciding to put him in your lineup.

Ramo will be between the pipes against Columbus on Friday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The FAN reports.

Inconsistent of late, the 29-year-old posted 2-3-0 record in his previous five contests with a .924 save percentage.

Ramo stopped 28 of 29 shots faced, including all 11 power-play opportunities, in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Carolina.

Special teams were the difference in this contest, as Ramo stood tall despite facing numerous chances while Carolina counterpart Eddie Lack was beaten twice by the Calgary power play. Ramo had lost his last three starts heading into the All-Star break, but this much-needed win brought the veteran back to .500 on the season.

He will face a Hurricanes team Wednesday that he lost to earlier in the season, as he gave up three goals on 19 shots before being pulled after just 23:50 of ice time Jan 24. • Flames' Karri Ramo: Makes 22 saves in loss

Ramo gave up two goals on 24 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Predators.

Ramo has surrendered 16 goals while losing five of his last six starts, as all of the momentum from his mid-December four game winning streak has long since disappeared. His subpar 2.62 GAA is mostly the product of Calgary's early-season defensive struggles, but it's still tough to trust the Finnish goaltender due to the team's continued inconsistency on that end.

  • Flames' Karri Ramo: Confirmed starter Wednesday

Ramo will receive the starting nod in the crease Wednesday against the Predators, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The FAN reports.

Ramo set aside 28 of the 30 shots he faced in Monday's contest, but it wasn't enough for a win. He'll get his third shot at his 17th victory of the year Wednesday against a Nashville club that's turned the corner recently, winning four of its last five games.

Ramo denied 28 of 30 shots in Monday's loss to the Stars.

Ramo put forth a solid effort, especially against the high-powered Dallas offense, but he was done in by a pair of goals scored just 80 seconds apart early in the middle frame. He's now 16-16-1 and has yet to prove to be consistent enough to be relied upon on a nightly basis.

Ramo will be in goal against the Stars on Monday.

Ramo gets the starting nod after being yanked from Sunday's contest in which he allowed three goals after just 24 minutes of action. The 29-year-old is having an inconsistent season, resulting in a 16-15-1 record and a .909 save percentage. If he is not on top of his game, the netminder could be in trouble against the high-powered Dallas offense that is averaging over three scores per game.

  • Flames' Karri Ramo: Pulled early in loss

Ramo allowed three goals on 19 shots before being replaced in the second period of Sunday's loss to the Hurricanes.

Ramo was given a quick hook in this one after surrendering a trio of goals in the opening 24 minutes, though one of the tallies came on a penalty shot. Jonas Hiller didn't fare much better in relief though, so Ramo figures to continue to stay atop the depth chart despite losing three of his last four.

Ramo picked up a victory Thursday with 27 saves on 29 shots on the road against the Blue Jackets.

After Ramo gave up five goals on 18 shots Jan. 11 against the Sharks, he spent the next 10 days (three games) on the bench watching Jonas Hiller mostly look good between the pipes. It's unclear just how the Flames will break up the starts between the two netminders moving forward, but it seems likely that coach Bob Hartley will try to ride whoever's got the hot hand.
