  • Travis Moen: Calls it a career

Moen announced his retirement from the NHL on Tuesday, Marc Antoine Godin of Montreal's La Presse reports.

Moen, a journeyman, officially hangs up his skates after 12 years in the league. He produced 136 points (59 goals, 77 assists) in 747 career games. Although he consistently played in the bottom six, Moen earned his paycheck as a low-maintenance role player, and he brought size to the lineup at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds. The 34-year-old retires as a member of the Stars.

  • Travis Moen: Remains without a contract

Moen (wrist) has yet to receive a contract offer from an NHL club.

Moen's 2015-16 campaign ended prematurely when he broke his wrist in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Blues, and it appears as though that may very well have been the final contest of the 34-year-old winger's NHL career. The 2000 fifth-round pick is now presumably healthy, but evidently hasn't attracted much interest from any forward-needy NHL clubs. If Moen isn't ready to hang up the skates, he may have to head overseas to continue his professional hockey career.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Broken wrist in playoffs

The injury that Moen sustained in Game 5 against the Blues has been specified as a broken wrist.

Moen reportedly has a cast for the injury that prevented him from playing in Games 6 and 7. Of course, even when he was on the ice in the postseason, the role was not substantial. He only averaged 6:43 of ice time in six contests.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Done for rest of playoffs

Moen (undisclosed) will not be able to rejoin Dallas for the remainder of the playoffs, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.

Moen suffered an undisclosed injury during Saturday's Game 5. In his absence, Colton Sceviour will likely continue to see ice time at left wing.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Ruled out for Game 6

Moen will be out of the lineup for Monday's Game 6 against the Blues with an undisclosed injury, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Moen has been relatively unanimous on the ice during this series as he has averaged a meager 6:11 in ice time per night in the previous five meeting with St. Louis. With a paltry two assists on the year, fantasy owners should be unaffected by the veteran's absence. What limited additional minutes will be available will likely be picked up by Colton Sceviour.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Activated off injured reserve

Moen (lower body) is no longer listed on the IR, per the NHL's official media site.

Moen missed about three weeks with the injury, but he's now received a clean bill of health and will rejoin the club. It's unclear what the winger's role will be, as he's laced up in just 18 games this season -- recording only two points in that span -- so he likely won't see too much time on the ice even when healthy.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Expected out Tuesday

Moen (lower body) will likely miss Tuesday's contest against Winnipeg, Stars play-by-play announcer Dave Strader reports.

Moen hasn't played much this season, but he had been the top candidate to replace Patrick Eaves (illness, expected to miss) in Tuesday's lineup. It appears that Radek Faksa will draw into the lineup in Eaves' place.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Could return Tuesday

Moen (lower body) may return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Jets. If not then, he would slot back in Thursday versus the Islanders.

Even when healthy and in the lineup, Moen has averaged just 7:48 of ice time in total this season, tallying just two points in 18 games. He shouldn't be considered in most fantasy circles, but would likely replace Patrick Eaves (illness, expected to miss) in Tuesday's lineup if he can play.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Lands on injured reserve

Moen (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.

Moen is dealing with a lower-body injury that will now at least cost him the Stars' next four games, as he won't be eligible to return to action until next Saturday against Boston. The Stars will likely recall a forward from their AHL affiliate to round out their depth up front while Moen is sidelined.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Could be out for "a little while"

Coach Lindy Ruff said Friday that Moen (lower body) could be out "for a little while," reports Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.

With no goals and two assists through 18 games this season, Moen's fantasy value isn't particularly high as it stands. He's been scratched and marginalized for most of the season, averaging career-low ice time of 7:48. There are better options than Moen on waivers or at a comparable price in daily.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Won't return with lower-body injury

Moen was dealt a lower-body injury in Thursday's game against the Blackhawks and will not return.

Prior to the injury, Moen logged 6:59 seconds of relatively quiet ice time, also serving two penalty minutes. Even when healthy, he isn't a consistent presence in the lineup (scratched two of last four games), so the loss shouldn't make too much of an impact on the fantasy front. The team should provide further information on his status and a potential timetable in the coming days.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Posts second point of season

Moen had an assist and a shot in just 8:33 of ice time during Friday's loss to the Ducks.

Moen has played just 13 games this season. That's partially due to injury, but he's also seen a lot of healthy scratches. In those 13 games he's played more than 10 minutes just twice with a season-high of 10:31. His fantasy value is limited.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Scratched again Friday

Moen (upper body) skated late Friday and is expected to be scratched again Friday

Moen was activated from injured reserve Nov. 19, but has yet to slot back into the lineup. While it's possible he's still dealing with an upper-body issue, it's also possible that he's just serving as a healthy scratch Sunday. The winger's next chance to rejoin the lineup will come Saturday against the Wild, but there's nothing suggesting that will be the case.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Absence continues

Moen (upper body) is day-to-day as of November 19, despite being activated from IR, The Hockey News reports.

It's unclear whether Moen suffered a setback in recovery from his original injury or if he suffered a new injury altogether. There have been no further updates on Moen's status, so it would be fair to assume that he may be out for at least the next few games.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Ready to play

Moen (upper body) is ready to play and could return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Sabres, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.

Moen has been on injured reserve for nearly a month and has been limited to just four games on the season, but it now appears the injury is behind him. The club hasn't officially announced if he'll return for Tuesday's tilt, but he'll likely return to a bottom-six role when he does suit back up.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Needs more time

Moen remains a little ways away from returning from his upper-body injury, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Moen has been limited to just four games so far this season due to injuries, and it appears he remains a little ways away from rejoining the lineup. Consider his timetable indefinite at this point, and his eventual return to practice should signify when he's beginning to near rejoining the lineup.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Placed on IR on Wednesday

Moen (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, per NHL.com's media site.

Moen missed Saturday's game against the Panthers with the injury, but returned to practice Monday, before once again being held out of Tuesday's tilt against the Flyers with the ailment. Now that he's been placed on injured reserve, he won't be eligible to return to Dallas' lineup until Oct. 29 against the Canucks.

  • Stars' Travis Moen: Practices Monday

Moen (upper body) returned to practice Monday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Moen's injury popped up Friday, and it ended up costing him Saturday's game. The issue didn't seem to be anything serious, and his return to practice Monday further suggests that he may be available for Tuesday's contest against the Flyers.
