Hurricanes D Danny Biega recalled from minors on Friday
Defenseman Danny Biega was recalled by the Hurricanes from AHL Charlotte on Friday.
With James Wisniewski expected to miss the next six months after tearing his ACL in Thursday's tilt against the Predators, Biega will serve as the team's seventh defenseman Saturday against Detroit. The Hurricanes are exploring different options, including trades and potential free agent additions, so the stay may be short lived. Biega registered 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 69 games with AHL Charlotte last season.
