Ryan Rupert: Won't receive qualifying offer from Senators
Ottawa won't extend Rupert a qualifying offer, Murray Pam of The Hockey News reports.
The 23-year-old pivot will thus become an unrestricted free agent. He'll likely need to catch on with a team in need of depth at forward in the minors in order to avoid heading overseas to continue his playing career in 2017-18. Rupert only notched a paltry six points in 33 games with AHL Binghamton last season.

Senators' Ryan Rupert: Moved by Leafs to Ottawa
Rupert was traded along with Dion Phaneuf and three others to the Senators on Tuesday for Milan Michalek, Colin Greening, Tobias Lindberg and a draft pick.
Toronto's sixth-round pick in 2012, Rupert has split time between the AHL and ECHL levels over the last two seasons, with his production not worth writing home about. At just 21 years old, he still has time to develop, though, and he'll attempt to do that while skating for AHL Binghamton in the Sens' organization.
