  • Andrei Mironov: Returns to Russia

Mironov agreed to terms on a three-year deal with KHL club Dynamo Moskva on Thursday.

After being waived unconditionally by the Avalanche in March -- and then going unclaimed -- it was pretty clear the defenseman was going to need to head overseas to continue his career. Considering the 23-year-old spent five seasons with the Belo-golubye, it makes sense he re-joined his hometown club. Unless an NHL team can guarantee him a spot on the 23-man roster, it seems unlikely the 2015 fourth-round pick will return to North America.

  • Andrei Mironov: Waived unconditionally

Mironov was placed on unconditional waivers by the Avalanche on Friday in order to terminate his contract, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Mironov played in just 10 games for Colorado this season, with his most recent outing coming Dec. 31 versus the Islanders. The defenseman was clearly not thrilled playing in the AHL and tallied a mere nine points in 26 minor-league contests. It seems likely the Russian will return home to suit up in the KHL, likely with the Moscow Dynamo, where he played from 2012-17.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Faces minor-league assignment

Mironov was assigned to AHL San Antonio on Monday, per the AHL's official transaction log.

Mironov didn't play any NHL games in this stint, but the rookie blueliner notched one goal and three assists in 10 games earlier this campaign. He's a gritty player willing to do what it takes to stay on the roster, though, as he had 19 hits and 16 blocked shots in that span as well, but 12 PIM is unappealing for a skater averaging 11:03 per game.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Headed back to NHL

Mironov was called up Monday from AHL San Antonio, per the AHL's official transaction log.

Although Mironov hasn't played in the NHL since Dec. 31, he'll immediately battle David Warsofsky for playing time, as Erik Johnson (upper body) and Anton Lindholm (upper body) were both ruled to be out indefinitely. The Russian isn't well known for his offensive impact however, and he's only posted nine points in (one goal, eight assists) 25 games this season in the minors. Through 10 contests in Colorado, Mironov has also averaged just 11:02 of ice time, and likely won't see more than a third pairing role if he makes the lineup.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Returned to minor-league affiliate

The Avalanche reassigned Mironov to AHL San Antonio on Tuesday.

Colorado recalled Duncan Siemens in a corresponding move, so he'll take over as the team's seventh defenseman for the forseeable future. Mironov will continue to be one of the first players the Avalanche turn to when they're dealing with injuries at defense, but he isn't a viable fantasy option at this stage in his career.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Bumped back to Colorado

Mironov was recalled from AHL San Antonio on Sunday.

So far, the 23-year-old has notched nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 22 games in the minors this season, but hasn't been able to carve out a consistent role on Colorado's blue line. However, with Mark Barberio (lower body) questionable for Tuesday's tilt against Vancouver, Mironov or David Warsofsky should suit up if he isn't able to heal in time for the match, potentially giving Mironov an opportunity to build off the three points (one goal, two assists) he's logged in 10 games during 2017-18.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Descends to AHL

Mironov was assigned to AHL San Antonio on Sunday.

Although Mironov was rostered for six games, he only suited up for one, logging 12:22 of ice time and a minus-1 rating. The Avs' bye week ends Jan. 13, and unless Sesrgei Boikov (shoulder) recovers in time, expect Mironov to be recalled again.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Making rare appearance

Mironov will play in Sunday's game against the Islanders, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.

The rookie has been used sparingly, having drawn into only nine of a possible 37 games. Mironov, who has collected three points and a plus-3 rating, reportedly will replace Anton Lindholm on the bottom pair.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Reascends to top level

Mironov was recalled from AHL San Antonio on Thursday.

The Russian was sent to the minor-league affiliate exactly one month ago, but in true boomerang-like fashion, he returns to the parent club in the wake of a hand injury to Tyson Barrie. Mironov's skated to a plus-5 rating along with six points in 14 games with AHL San Antonio, and he's dialed in one goal and two helpers over nine contests at the highest level. The future is bright for Colorado's 2015 fourth-round draft pick.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Demoted to minors

Mironov was sent down to AHL San Antonio on Tuesday.

Despite averaging a mere 11:01 of ice time in his previous five outings, Mironov still managed to tally three points, 11 hits and 12 blocks. Long term, however, the Avs will certainly want the defenseman logging more minutes, which is likely why they reassigned him to the minors. Don't be surprised to see the Russian back up with Colorado again before the end of the season.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Records first NHL goal

Mironov scored his first NHL goal and added a helper in Saturday's loss to the Predators.

Mironov only saw 9:46 of ice time Saturday, but he made the most of it, recording his first ever multi-point game, collecting two PIM and posting a plus-2 rating in a 5-2 loss. He wasn't much of an offensive producer back in his KHL days and doesn't offer much in terms of fantasy value right now, especially given his limited role.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Picks up first NHL point Saturday

Mironov recorded an assist during Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Senators.

The fourth-round pick of the Avs in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has one assist in his first five NHL games. Until his role grows, he'll struggle to maintain fantasy value, but the helper will certainly increase his confidence moving forward.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Will play Saturday

Mironov will be in the lineup Saturday for the NHL's Global Series game against the Senators in Sweden, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.

Out comes Nikita Zadorov, so it's one Russian subbing in for another to join Chris Bigras on the third defensive pair. The rookie Mironov is still seeking his first NHL point after four games, and needs to play more consistently to be considered in the fantasy realm.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Returns from conditioning assignment

Mironov was recalled from his conditioning assignment with AHL San Antonio, per agent Dan Milstein.

Mironov was in the minors to log some ice time -- something he wasn't getting with Colorado. The defenseman will likely spend Tuesday's matchup watching from the press box, but was needed to provide emergency depth after Patrik Nemeth (lower body) was ruled out against Dallas.

  • Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Heads to AHL for conditioning

The Avalanche assigned Mironov to AHL San Antonio for a conditioning stint Thursday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.

The 23-year-old blueliner hasn't cracked Colorado's lineup since he logged 11:24 of ice time in the team's season opener, so he'll head to the minors to play himself into game shape before returning to the big club. Mironov likely won't produce enough offense this campaign to be considered a viable option in season-long fantasy formats.
