Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Returns from loan assisgnment
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik will rejoin the Coyotes ahead of training camp following the conclusion of his loan stint with Finnish club Imatran Kettera, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports.

Jenik recorded five goals and three helpers in seven games with Imatran. Selected by the Coyotes in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft, the 20-year-old center will get a chance to secure a spot on the 23-man roster during training camp but should probably be considered a long shot and figures to spend some time in the minors during the 2020-21 campaign.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Joins Finnish team
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik (knee) will start the 2020-21 season on loan with Imatran Kettera of the Finnish second tier, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports.

After suffering a knee injury during the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championships, it appears Jenik is finally ready to get back into competitive matches. The center should get a chance to secure a spot on the 23-man roster during training camp but figures to be a long shot. As such, fantasy players should expect the 20-year-old Czech to spend some time in the minors or back overseas this year.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Ready to skate again
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

AHL Tucson general manager Steve Sullivan said in an interview last week that Jenik (knee) is ready to resume skating, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports.

Jenik continues to progress well in his recovery from the torn ACL he suffered at the World Junior Championships in December that required season-ending surgery. The forward will need to gradually increase the intensity of his skating before he's cleared for full-contact practices, but Sullivan expects that the 19-year-old will be "pretty darn close" to being back to full health in advance of the 2020-21 AHL season.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Won't return this season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik (knee) is "progressing well" after surgery but will be out until this summer, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports.

Jenik had a dominant season with OHL Hamilton, scoring 22 goals and 56 points in just 27 games. He also tallied three points in three World Junior games with the Czech team before suffering a knee injury. His surgery will put him a step back in his development and potentially delay his NHL timeline.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Out indefinitely
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik will be out indefinitely after sustaining a knee injury at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championships. Arizona general manager John Chayka told reporters, "Our doctors are reviewing his MRI and we'll work with his agent on a plan. He will be out indefinitely," Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports.

Jenik was having a fantastic junior season, as he's racked up 22 goals and 34 helpers in 27 games with OHL Hamilton. The 19-year-old was selected by the Yotes in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft and was expected to compete for a roster spot heading into the 2020-21 campaign. This injury could push back Jenik's NHL debut by a year.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Injured in WJC action Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik (lower-body) will not return after being injured in the Czech Republic's game against the United States at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship on Monday.

Jenik crumbled to the ice clutching his knee after a collision with Islanders prospect Jacob Pivonka as the buzzer sounded to end the second period. It seemed like an innocent play, but Jenik appeared to be in a ton of pain and the club quickly announced he would not return. It's a crushing blow for a Czech team that is already massively shorthanded as the round-robin portion of the tournament comes to a conclusion. Jenik -- a third round selection of Arizona in 2018 -- is currently fifth in OHL scoring with 56 points in 27 games.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Four points in OHL action
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik scored twice and added two assists in OHL Hamilton's 7-5 win over Barrie on Monday.

The combination of Jenik (14 points) and Los Angeles second-rounder Arthur Kaliyev (19 points) has been unstoppable over the course of Hamilton's first nine games. Jenik remains a work in progress, but his potential in undeniable. He was originally a third round selection (65th overall) of Arizona in 2018 and signed his entry-level contract in March.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: Inks entry-level contract
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik signed an entry-level deal with the Coyotes, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports.

Jenik was taken by Arizona in the third round -- 65th overall -- of the 2018 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old is an intriguing offensive player who turned heads with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the OHL, with whom he registered 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) in 27 appearances. Jenik will likely report to AHL Tucson soon since OHL Hamilton was eliminated from the playoffs Wednesday.

Coyotes' Jan Jenik: On board in OHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenik scored his first OHL goal in Hamilton's 6-5 victory over Flint on Friday.

The marker came in Jenik's second game with the club. Originally a draft pick of Flint, Jenik was acquired by Hamiltion last week and agreed to come over from his native Czech Republic shortly after. Jenik picked up a pair of assists in three games during the recently completed World Junior Championship. The 65th overall pick in the 2018 draft, Jenik is an intriguing offensive player who is learning the finer points of the game. The Coyotes have to be ecstatic that he decided to head to North America.
