Flames' Johannes Kinnvall: Signs overseas contract

Kinnvall penned a one-year deal with Swedish club Brynas IF on Monday.
Kinnvall spent the 2021-22 campaign playing with AHL Stockton for which he played in 19 games and recorded eight helpers. The 24-year-old defenseman could be given a qualifying offer by the Flames this offseason in order to retain his NHL rights but will not be suiting up for the organization next season regardless.

Flames' Johannes Kinnvall: Cleared to return with AHL team

Kinnvall (lower body) has been cleared to return for AHL Stockton.
Kinnvall won't play Wednesday, but the defenseman should be gearing up for the Heat soon. The 24-year-old logged 18 goals and 62 points with HV71 in his native Sweden over the previous two seasons. He's unlikely to be a factor with the big club in 2021-22.

Kinnvall is considered week-to-week with his injury, and no timeline for his return has been established. He'll likely report to AHL Stockton once he's healthy.
