Barcelona played in La Liga on Saturday, and Barcelona won. The Catalan giants continued their march toward the league crown with a 6-1 crushing of Girona at the Camp Nou in a match filled with highlights. Lionel Messi scored twice, Luis Suarez got a hat-trick and Philippe Coutinho also scored.
Messi and Coutinho dazzled with world-class goals, both which required perfect execution. But who had the better goal? Let's take a look.
Here's Messi's goal late in the first half to make it 3-1. He decided to go with the grounded free kick under the wall and in. Cheeky as can be, here it is in all its glory:

Coutinho went with one of his signature curlers from outside the box, going far post with force. Here it is:

Now, let's grade these babies.
Grade
Messi Coutinho
Accuracy: 9/10 10/10
Difficulty: 10/10 9/10
Execution: 10/10 9/10
Final: 9.6/10 9.3/10
Why: Both of these were unbelievable goals, and it was like picking between your mother or your father -- you love both of them. Messi's could have been better had it gone closer to the post, but you really can't ask for more when putting it under the wall. As for Coutinho's, the defenders gave him enough space to do what he wanted and he finished perfectly, but it did hit the post and could have nearly gone out (again, it's nitpicking). In the end, Messi gets the win but they were both two of the best goals we'll see all February.
