The first team relegated from the Premier League is now known. Sunderland is headed down to the Football League Championship after being relegated on Saturday following a 1-0 loss at home to Bournemouth.

The Black Cats have been by far the worst team in the league, losing 23 of its 34 league clashes. With just five victories, the team finishes the day 13 points down in the relegation zone, and with four matches remaining, it's a difference this team can no longer make up.

Under the leadership of manager David Moyes, Sunderland has just one win this calendar year, coming back in February.

Sunderland only has 26 goals in 34 matches this season in the league, while conceding 60 in those contests.

While Sunderland is the first to go down, the other two in the relegation zone are Swansea City and Middlesbrough. As for teams coming up, so far Brighton and Newcastle have earned promotion.
