It sounds like Damontre Harris’ days could be numbered at Florida.

The former South Carolina transfer was suspended before the season, and has yet to appear in a game. In mid-November, head coach Billy Donovan said Harris needed to work his way back onto the team. It appears Harris hasn’t done what was asked.

On Monday, Donovan was asked about Harris, and responded with this: “I don’t ever anticipate him playing here at Florida."

Harris, a 6-foot-10 big man, chose Florida over Kansas after transferring from South Carolina before his junior season. He’s talented, and put up 6.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks during his sophomore campaign with the Gamecocks. However, he has not lived up to his potential while in college, also getting arrested for failure to appear in court last February.

The Gators are doing fine without him, coming off a win over Kansas to move to 7-2. Moreover, star freshman Chris Walker has been cleared to practice and could begin playing in games soon.
