I don't know if you have heard, but Kentucky is the last undefeated team in men's college basketball. We will be following the Wildcats on a game-by-game basis for the rest of the regular season, offering previews and predictions for each matchup. Today, we look at Kentucky's rematch with Arkansas in the SEC conference tournament final.

It may have been premeditated, it may have not, but Hampton coach Edward Joyner had one of the best press conference responses of the year when asked about the Pirates upcoming matchup with Kentucky after beating Manhattan on Tuesday night.

Jokingly calling "Jesus" on speed dial with one of the phones on the podium, Joyner asked what it would take to beat Kentucky and if Jesus could give Hampton's odds to take down the Wildcats.

"Hello? ... Hello?"

It may take spritual intervention or some wild shift in the cosmos for Hampton, a team that just climbed back to .500 at 17-17 with a win against Manhattan, to beat Kentucky. Things did not get any easier when Quinton Chievous, with team's star in the win with 15 points and 13 rebounds, went down with an injury in the final minutes of the game.

Chievous told reporters after the game that "hopefully" he can play Thursday after receiving treatment. The Pirates were already short-handed heading into the game, without leading scorer Dwight Meikle. Meikle has missed five games with an ankle sprain and remains day-to-day, according to Joyner.

No. 16 Hampton vs. No. 1 Kentucky

Thursday, 9:40 p.m. ET (CBS)

NCAA Tournament Midwest Region Round of 64 (Louisville Pod)

Line: Kentucky -32

Problem for the Wildcats: Hampton's pace. The Pirates are not the most efficient offensive team, and could be in a lot of trouble if Quinton Chievous misses the game, but they like to run (No. 15 nationally in adjusted tempo) and are much stronger, statistically, on the defensive end. Kentucky has the depth and athleticism to run for 40 minutes with anyone, but only a handful of times has a team forced the Wildcats into a game with more than 70 possessions (Hampton averages 69.7) in regulation.

Kentucky goes 35-0 if: Hampton, essentially, starts four guards and one big man in 6-8, 250-pound junior Jervon Pressley. That doesn't fare well for the Pirates if Kentucky can get its army of 7-footers going. Willie Cauley-Stein, Kart-Anthony Towns and Trey Lyles all have the ability to put this game away early with dominant play inside.

Kentucky goes 34-1: A 16-seed has never taken down a 1-seed, and it's not going to start with the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats. I've stretched my understanding of reality plenty of times for this "Chasing Perfection" series (see: Auburn), but I cannot do it for this game.

Prediction: Kentucky 82, Hampton 50
