UCF @ No. 21 Auburn
Current Records: UCF 4-1; Auburn 5-1
What to Know
The UCF Knights will take on the #21 Auburn Tigers at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Auburn Arena. Auburn should still be riding high after a big victory, while the Knights will be looking to right the ship.
UCF lost a heartbreaker to the Oklahoma Sooners when they met in December of 2019, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. UCF fell just short of Oklahoma by a score of 65-62. Guard Darin Green Jr. (17 points) and guard Darius Perry (16 points) were the top scorers for UCF.
Meanwhile, the Tigers took their game against the Syracuse Orange last week by a conclusive 89-68 score. It was another big night for Auburn's forward Jabari Smith, who had 22 points in addition to six boards.
The Knights are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those burned by picking them against the spread on Saturday might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
UCF's loss took them down to 4-1 while Auburn's win pulled them up to 5-1. If the Tigers want to win, they will need to focus on stopping UCF's Darius Perry, who had 16 points and eight assists, and Darin Green Jr., who shot 5-for-10 from downtown and finished with 17 points. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
