Who's Playing

The Citadel @ South Carolina State

Current Records: The Citadel 3-2; South Carolina State 1-6

What to Know

The The Citadel Bulldogs will hit the road for the second straight game as they head to Smith-Hammond-Middleton Center at 2 p.m. ET Sunday. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It looks like The Citadel got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 107-81 walloping at the Duke Blue Devils' hands last week. The Citadel was surely aware of their 26.5-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result. Guard Tyler Moffe had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 36 minutes but putting up just seven points on 3-for-11 shooting.

As for the South Carolina State Bulldogs, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They fell in an 82-78 heartbreaker to the South Carolina Upstate Spartans. This is South Carolina State's third heartbreak in a row against South Carolina Upstate following a 73-70 loss in December of 2019.

The Citadel is the favorite in this one, with an expected 10.5-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last Monday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

The losses put The Citadel at 3-2 and South Carolina State at 1-6. The Citadel doesn't typically stay down for long -- they're 1-0 after losses this year -- so South Carolina State (1-4 after losses) won't have an easy go of it.
