No. 6 Villanova @ Syracuse
Current Records: Villanova 6-2; Syracuse 5-3
What to Know
The Syracuse Orange will take on the #6 Villanova Wildcats at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden. The Orange aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.
The Florida State Seminoles typically have all the answers at home, but this past Saturday 'Cuse proved too difficult a challenge. 'Cuse narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Seminoles 63-60. Four players on 'Cuse scored in the double digits: guard Joseph Girard III (16), forward Cole Swider (16), forward Jimmy Boeheim (13), and center Jesse Edwards (11).
Meanwhile, Villanova took their game against the Saint Joseph's Hawks this past Saturday by a conclusive 81-52 score. Villanova's guard Collin Gillespie did his thing and shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and finished with 23 points.
The Orange are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Colgate Raiders Nov. 20 easily too and instead slipped up with a 100-85. In other words, don't count the Wildcats out just yet.
