During a Thanksgiving eve, 99-77 UCLA blowout over Portland, the father of Bruins fabulous freshman point guard Lonzo Ball, LaVar Ball, was interviewed by ESPN's Jeff Goodman on the sideline.
Toward the end of the interview, LaVar made a prediction -- a very bold one, in fact -- that UCLA will win the national championship.
For the record, here is the proof:

No matter how good you think UCLA may be lead by Lonzo Ball, the odds of the Bruins, who missed the NCAA Tournament entirely last year, winning it all this year are ... not favorable. In fact, before the season, the Bruins had a 60/1 chance to win the national title -- though we did select them as one of our best value bets.
Watching Lonzo Ball play, he oozes with a quiet confidence that flows over to his teammates. The Bruins are off to a 5-0 start, and who knows, perhaps Mr. Ball calling the Bruins' national title shot is quite as far-fetched as it sounds.
