After leading Notre Dame to the BCS title game in his third season in South Bend, Brian Kelly and the school have agreed to a new sweetened contract that will take him through the 2017 season, a source told CBSSports.com on Saturday. The deal had been in the works since January.

Before Kelly's arrival, the Irish hadn't finished in the top 10 since 2005.

The 51-year-old Kelly is 28-11 in his three seasons at the school. Before coming to Notre Dame, Kelly was 34-6 at Cincinnati. He also won two Division II national titles at Grand Valley State.
