What to Know

The UTSA Roadrunners will be returning home after a two-game road trip. UTSA and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles will face off in a Conference USA battle at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Alamodome. The Roadrunners know how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Southern Miss likes a good challenge.

Everything went UTSA's way against the UTEP Miners last week as they made off with a 44-23 win. With UTSA ahead 30-9 at the half, the game was all but over already. It was another big night for their QB Frank Harris, who passed for two TDs and 285 yards on 33 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 76 yards.

Special teams collected 14 points for UTSA. K Hunter Duplessis delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 38-14 punch to the gut against the North Texas Mean Green last week. Southern Miss was up 14 to nothing at the end of the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead. QB Jake Lange had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he fumbled the ball once with only 116 yards passing.

The Roadrunners are the favorite in this one, with an expected 32.5-point (!) margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a four-game streak of ATS wins.

UTSA is now a perfect 9-0 while the Golden Eagles sit at 1-8. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: UTSA is 212th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 18 on the season. Southern Miss has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 217th most touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 26 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
