Athletics' Ross Detwiler: Called up to start Wednesday

Detwiler was called up from Triple-A Nashville prior to his start against the Orioles on Wednesday, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Detwiler will get his first start in the majors this season after spending the last couple weeks with Triple-A Nashville after being acquired in mid-July. He has posted a 4.40 ERA throughout 86 innings in the minors this season, but has only tossed 4.2 innings in the majors, allowing three earned runs and a 1.50 WHIP.
