The Rangers have signed pitcher Jason Knapp to a minor-league deal, Baseball America reports.

Knapp was a key part of the 2009 trade that sent Cliff Lee from Cleveland to Philadelphia after being drafted in the second round by the Phillies in 2008. He made just 13 starts in the Indians organization due to injuries and was released in 2012. The 23-year-old has yet to pitch above Class A ball.
