Detwiler elected free agency Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Detwiler chose free agency after being designated for assignment Thursday. He was fairly effective in 19.2 innings of relief this season, posting a 3.20 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, which could keep him on a big-league roster next season for his 13th season in the league.
