  • Pruitt cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday. Pruitt was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Thursday but will remain in the organization with the Triple-A club. The right-hander has posted a 2.45 ERA and 0.63 WHIP in 3.2 innings across three appearances at Triple-A Jacksonville and will likely be in the mix if the Marlins need an extra bullpen arm.

  • Pruitt was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Pruitt was relatively effective across three relief appearances during this stint with the major-league club, as he allowed a run on three hits and no walks while striking out four in 3.2 innings. His removal from the 40-man roster will make room for right-hander Paul Campbell, who was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday.

  • Pruitt's contract was selected by the Marlins prior to Friday's game against the Reds, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Pruitt was DFA'd by Miami on Aug. 5 but wound up heading to Triple-A Jacksonville after clearing waivers. He'll now return to the big leagues with Cody Poteet (knee) moving to the 60-day IL in order to make room on the 40-man roster. Pruitt has logged just 3.2 major-league innings this year, allowing two runs on a pair of solo homers.

  • Pruitt was designated for assignment Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. The righty has appeared in one game for Miami since being acquired at the trade deadline, pitching a scoreless inning Friday against the the Yankees. It's unclear whether Pruitt's demotion is a long-term move, or if he's just temporarily off the 26-man and 40-man rosters to make room for Thursday's starter Braxton Garrett.

  • The Astros designated Pruitt for assignment Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. Houston cut Pruitt to make room on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for reliever Rafael Montero, who was acquired along with Kendall Graveman from the Mariners on Tuesday. After missing the first three and a half months of the season while recovering from September surgery to repair a fractured elbow, Pruitt struggled to regain form upon being activated from the injured list. In his two appearances out of the Houston bullpen, Pruitt gave up a pair of runs on three hits, including two solo home runs.
