Appling was arrested Sunday night in Detroit, Robert Allen of the Detroit Free Press reports. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting and obstructing police, third-degree fleeing and eluding and felony firearm.

Police had stopped Appling after he committed a traffic violation and noticed an odor of marijuana in his vehicle. After asking for Appling's driver's license, the 24-year-old, who appeared in five games with the Magic last season, drove away and threw a personalized bag out of his window, which contained a handgun. Police later caught up to him and took him into custody. It's the third arrest in the last four months for Appling, which likely spells an end to any chance he had at returning to the NBA in the near future.
