The NBA announced Tuesday that Murray will be fined $100,000 but won't be suspended after throwing a heat pad and towel on the court during Monday's Game 2 loss to Minnesota, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Murray tallied just eight points in Monday's 106-80 loss to the Timberwolves, and threw a heat pad and towel on the court in frustration. However, the star guard will be available for Game 3 on Friday, as Denver will travel to Minnesota looking to avoid a 3-0 deficit.... See More ... See Less

Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Cold shooting in Game 2 defeat
Murray finished with eight points (3-18 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals across 36 minutes during Monday's 106-80 loss to Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Murray has struggled badly in the postseason when it comes to his efficiency despite the fact he had some good moments in the series against the Lakers. However, Monday's game was a new low for him, as he missed 15 of his 18 shots and didn't reach the 10-point plateau for the first time since Feb. 29. Murray needs to bounce back if the Nuggets want to have a shot at turning things around. He's averaging 12.5 points per game while shooting just 28.1 percent from the floor in his first two appearances in the series.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Cleared for Game 2
Murray (calf) will play in Monday's Game 2 against the Timberwolves, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports. Murray is still battling a nagging calf injury that he picked up during Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs against the Lakers, but it won't force him to miss Monday's clash. He was held in check during Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals; however, the point guard has shown that he can make clutch shots when his team needs them most, even if he's not at 100 percent.... Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Questionable for Game 2
Murray is questionable for Monday's Game 2 against the Timberwolves due to a left calf strain. Murray continues to play through the calf issue but wasn't at his best during Sunday's Game 1 loss, as he posted only 17 points and four assists. Despite not being 100 percent, he averaged 23.6 points, 7.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 39.8 minutes during the opening-round series against the Lakers, including two game-winning shots. Murray is likely more probable than questionable, but his official availability will be a game-time decision.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Nears 20 points in Game 1 defeat
Murray racked up 17 points (6-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and four assists over 34 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 loss to Minnesota in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Murray wasn't as strong as we've seen him in the past in Saturday's contest, but he still managed to end three points shy of the 20-point mark while ending as one of three Nuggets with 15 or more points in a losing effort. It will be key to see how Murray, who has been dealing with calf discomfort of late, is able to perform throughout the semifinals and to monitor whether his injury limits him to any extent against a talented Timberwolves squad.... Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Will play in Game 1
Murray (calf) will play in Game 1 against the Timberwolves on Saturday, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports. Murray went through his usual warmup for Game 1 and completed it with no setbacks, so the star floor general will be available to handle his regular workload in the series opener against Minnesota. Murray was stellar in the first round against the Lakers, hitting two game-winning shots and averaging 23.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Expected to play Saturday
Denver coach Michael Malone said he expects Murray (calf) to play in Saturday's Game 1 versus Minnesota, but the point guard remains a game-time call, Brendan Vogt of TheDNVR.com reports. Murray will go through his usual warmup for Game 1, and if he gets through it without any setbacks, he should be set to take the court. Murray was terrific in the previous round against the Lakers, posting 23.6 points and 7.2 assists per game.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Deemed questionable for Game 1
Murray (calf) is listed as questionable for Saturday's Game 1 against the Timberwolves. Murray has been in and out of Denver's practices this week but was able to play in all five of Denver's first-round games against the Lakers. Murray averaged 39.8 minutes per contest against Los Angeles, and his calf is feeling even better heading into Saturday's matchup, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Drills another game winner
Murray posted 32 points (13-28 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 41 minutes during Monday's 108-106 win over the Lakers in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Murray's status heading into Monday's matchup was in doubt due to a calf injury, but he showed zero signs of discomfort, leading his squad in scoring and tacking on the game-winning bucket to send Denver to the next round. Monday marked his best scoring performance of the opening round after putting up 22 points in back-to-back showings heading into Game 5.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Set to play in Game 5
Murray (calf) will play in Monday's Game 5 against the Lakers. Murray was spotted going through a brief five-minute workout before the game with a wrap on his injured calf, and he's since been cleared to suit up. He's put up 20 or more points in each of the first four games of the series but is knocking down only 20.8 percent of his tries from three over that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: True game-time call for Game 5
Murray (calf) is still listed as questionable for Monday's Game 5 against the Lakers, Vic Lombardi of Altitude Sports reports. Murray will attempt to go through his pregame routine before a decision on his availability is made. "Sometimes I have to be the adult in the room," said head coach Michael Malone. "We'll see how he feels during his pregame routine." Malone went on to state that the team needs to be responsible and take the "bigger picture" approach. If Murray can help the team win and not put himself at risk of a more significant injury, playing will be on the table, per Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Dealing with calf strain
Murray is questionable for Monday's Game 5 against the Lakers due to a left calf strain. Murray played 39 minutes during Saturday's Game 4 loss and posted 22 points (9-23 FG), six rebounds and five assists. However, he appears to have suffered a calf injury during the contest as well. While the Nuggets won the first three matchups of the series, the Lakers have led the majority of every game so far. Reggie Jackson (ankle) is probable for Game 5 and would presumably start at point guard if Murray is ruled out.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Scores 22 points with 23 shots
Murray racked up 22 points (9-23 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one block over 39 minutes during Saturday's 119-108 loss to the Lakers in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Murray's shooting woes continued in Game 4, as he finished with nine or fewer shots made while attempting 20-plus for the fourth consecutive contest. His numbers on the surface look good, as Murray is averaging 21.5 points per game while the Nuggets are 3-1 up in the series, but he's shooting a woeful 38 percent from the field. The Nuggets need him to be more efficient if they want to close the series out in Game 5 on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Goes for 22 points Thursday
Murray contributed 22 points (8-21 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, nine assists and one block in 41 minutes during Thursday's 112-105 win over the Lakers in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Murray didn't have his best shooting performance after needing 21 shots to score 22 points, but he compensated for the lack of efficiency with his nine assists. He's reached the 20-point mark in the first three games of the series against the Lakers, but the lack of efficiency has been a problem, as he's made just 37.7 percent of his field-goal attempts so far.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Sinks game-winning shot Monday
Murray ended Monday's 101-99 victory over the Lakers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals with 20 points (9-24 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 39 minutes. Even though Nikola Jokic stole the show with a triple-double, it was Murray who ended up being the hero for the Nuggets, as his buzzer-beating fadeaway gave Denver a massive win despite the team trailing by as many as 20 points at one point in the third quarter. Murray has scored at least 20 points in each of his last six appearances dating back to the regular season, and the star floor general should handle a prominent role in Game 3 on Thursday as the series shifts to Los Angeles.... Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Posts double-double in Game 1 win
Murray supplied 22 points (9-24 FG, 4-9 3Pt), six rebounds, 10 assists and one block over 39 minutes during Saturday's 114-103 victory over the Lakers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Even though Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets in scoring, Murray was the main reason why Denver put up a fight when things got complicated. The star floor general came through in the first half, and he made a couple of plays that kept the Nuggets in the game when the Lakers were threatening to pull away for good. Murray should continue to have a pivotal role as a scorer and playmaker in Game 2 of the series scheduled for Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Cleared to play Sunday
Murray (knee) is active for Sunday's regular-season finale against Memphis. Murray will suit up for a fifth consecutive contest, and he has boomed to the tune of 27.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists across his last three appearances. Denver is in a three-way tie for the top seed in the Western Conference, so a win is important Sunday, although Murray operating in a limited workload remains possible.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Iffy for Sunday
Murray (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies. Murray and the rest of Denver's starters are listed as questionable, but it'd be surprising if they all rested, given the Nuggets are vying for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Murray has averaged 24.8 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks over his last four appearances, including a 35-point explosion during Friday's loss to the Spurs.... See More ... Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Efficient in loss
Murray logged 35 points (14-26 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Friday's 121-120 loss to the Spurs. Murray's efficient shooting helped him record a team-high 35 points during Friday's loss to the Spurs. After missing seven games with a knee injury, the star guard appears to be ramping up his workload. In Denver's four contests since returning to action, Murray is averaging 24.8 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks in 26.0 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Good to go Friday
Murray (knee) is available for Friday's game against the Spurs. Murray is still a little banged up, but he'll appear in his fourth straight game. The Nuggets could monitor his minutes with the playoffs looming.... See More ... See Less
