Watkins isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason game in Green Bay, Rich Hammond of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Since he was dealt to the Rams on Aug. 11, he was expected to provide a big-play threat to an offense severely lacking in one. That said, he's gathered in only two of five passes for eight yards, despite logging 53 snaps between preseason Weeks 2 and 3. Arguably, he's experienced a downgrade from Tyrod Taylor to Jared Goff, but it's exhibition season after all, so Watkins may still be easing his way into the offense. Once the regular season opens, Watkins will serve as the Rams' clear-cut No. 1 wideout, while Robert Woods, Tavon Austin (hamstring) and rookie Cooper Kupp (groin) round out the receiving corps.
