Morin was assigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
Morin committed a costly turnover that led to a goal for the Rangers in Monday's exhibition loss; it seemed like he panicked while trying to control the puck behind the cage, and upon sliding the disc directly at opposing player Brandon Pirri. Morin is a physical player, as evidenced by his 118 PIM with the Phantoms last season, but he's going to have to make smarter decisions on the path to an NHL job.
