Ramo inked a professional tryout agreement with AHL Toronto on Tuesday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Ramo has been linked with the Maple Leafs all season, including skating with them at practice while still a free agent. The netminder is expected to suit up for a few games in the minors, essentially to show the organization he's healthy, and he appears on track to agree to a contract with the Leafs. The first step in this process came Monday when current backup Jhonas Enroth was placed on waivers. That said, Ramo is free to sign with any team while on his PTO, so owners will want to monitor this situation closely until this deal is signed, sealed and delivered.
