Biega was promoted from AHL Toronto to the taxi squad Sunday, CapFriendly reports.
The 33-year-old blueliner appeared in 13 games with Detroit last season but hasn't seen any NHL action during the 2021-22 campaign. Biega could be on the active roster for Wednesday's game against the Penguins.
