Steeves was promoted from AHL Toronto on Tuesday.
Steeves will likely jump right in the lineup with Mitchell Marner and John Tavares both sick and unavailable for Tuesday's game versus the Blues. The 24-year-old Steeves has yet to log an NHL appearance this season, and he has one assist over six career contests for the Maple Leafs.
