Richard was recalled from AHL Chicago to the taxi squad Tuesday.
Richard will add depth at center with Ryan Johansen (upper body) on injured reserve and considered week-to-week. The 24-year-old has two career NHL games under his belt. He'll be eligible to practice and travel with the big club, but he'll need to be promoted to make his season debut at the top level.
