Richard was waived by Nashville on Sunday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
Richard will almost certainly head to the Predators' AHL affiliate in the likely event he passes through waivers unclaimed. The 24-year-old forward tallied 18 points in 28 games with AHL Chicago last season.
