Nash was placed on waivers Friday, Chris Johnston of TSN reports.
Nash signed a two-year contract with the Rangers in July. He spent last season with AHL Charlotte, scoring 24 goals and tacking on 35 assists in 66 games. Nash has played in 627 NHL games during his career, scoring 63 times with 113 assists.
