Strachan is dealing with an ankle injury.
It's unclear at this point when Strachan sustained the ailment but he should be considered day-to-day. The 31-year-old journeyman is not expected to play a regular role with the Sabres this season, but will remain with the team for the time being. Once healthy, Strachan is expected to report to AHL Rochester.
