Stockwatch: Dreary days for Drury

Chris Drury and Mike Ribeiro are struggling mightily with their offensive production while Craig Anderson is officially the starting goaltender in Florida. Our Ross Devonport touches on that and more in his latest Fantasy Stockwatch.

Every week our Fantasy staff will evaluate the landscape around the NHL and how it pertains to Fantasy owners in Fantasy Stockwatch.

	Dustin Penner, RW, Edmonton Penner was ice cold earlier this season with five points in his first 18 games, but he's really been picking up the pace over his last six games and is now playing on the top line with Ales Hemsky and Shawn Horcoff. For a guy that went undrafted, the fact Penner put up 52 goals over the last two seasons is pretty amazing. He has point-per-game potential if he's consistent and playing with the right guys, so he's definitely worth having on your squad in deeper leagues right now.
	Ilya Bryzgalov, G, Phoenix Bryzgalov came out of nowhere last season and emerged as a reliable No.2 Fantasy goalie, but he got embarrassed by the Blackhawks on Sunday in a 7-1 loss and now maybe people are realizing why the Ducks waived this guy last season. OK, so it might have been because Anaheim knew what they had in Jonas Hiller, but Bryzgalov is in danger of losing his starting job to Mikael Tellqvist at the moment and Fantasy owners everywhere might have to take some drastic action. Bench him for the time being, but don't drop him, as he might somehow find his form again later this season.
	Justin Williams, RW, Carolina Can you believe how fast this guy heals? He tore his Achilles in September and is already back playing after he was originally expected to miss 4-6 months. He's not getting big minutes yet, but you should grab him now before he starts to see the ice more and heats up. He is easily a possible point-per-game guy when he's getting top-six time, which he will very soon.
	Chris Drury, C, N.Y. Rangers Drury began the year starting in 70 percent of leagues, but now he's only owned in 74 percent, thanks to just 15 points in his first 29 games. A solid 60-point guy the last few seasons, Drury has slumped badly in 2008-09 so far and the Rangers are moving him all over the place to try and kick-start his offensive game. Bench him until he starts to produce, as he's just killing you in your starting lineup right now.
	Craig Anderson, G, Florida Anderson got his sixth straight start Monday night against the Senators, and coach Peter DeBoer has come out publicly and said that Anderson is his No. 1 option between the pipes right now. Florida's dire situation at the moment dictates that they simply have to go with the hotter goaltender, no matter how much he's making. While the Panthers aren't great, they're getting healthier and Anderson is worth starting as a No. 2 Fantasy option while he's on a roll.
	Craig Rivet, D, BUF Rivet has two seasons of more than 30 points in the last three years, but injuries have really taken a toll on the veteran so far in 2008-09 and he only has five points in 18 games. Maybe his age (34) is catching up with him, but whatever Rivet's issue is, it's stopping him from being much use in Fantasy play right now.
	Carlo Colaiacovo, D, St. Louis The oft-injured Colaiacovo was jettisoned out of Toronto earlier this season, but seems to be enjoying his time in St. Louis so far. He has four points in his last four games, with all coming on the power play. He has shown offensive potential in the past, with 17 points in 48 games two seasons ago, and you have to think a 40-point campaign would be possible in the right situation if he could stay healthy. Don't grab him just yet in deeper leagues, but certainly keep an eye on his totals over the next week or two.
	Pavol Demitra, C, Vancouver Demitra got off to a good start this season, but he's been booted from the top line and has only three assists in his last seven games. He enjoys playing with the Sedin brothers, but coach Alain Vigneault likes to shift his lines around quite frequently, and Demitra's game seems to be suffering as a result. Keep him active in deeper leagues, but there are hotter options out there in better scenarios.
	Greg Campbell, C, Florida It took Campbell a while to get going this season, but now he has 11 points in his last 12 games and has really been jelling nicely with Radek Dvorak and Ville Peltonen. While it might be a little early to start naming this line, as some folks in the media have done, Campbell is enjoying his top-six time at the moment and might be able to provide you owners in deeper leagues that reward PIM with an offensive boost over the next few weeks.
	Mike Ribeiro, C, Dallas Ribeiro's 83-point effort last season is clearly proving to be a fluke, as the Montreal native is struggling mightily so far in 2008-09. Thing is, if you looked back at his previous totals, he averaged 58.3 points over the previous three seasons, so you should have realized he could be in for a correction. Ribeiro has only one goal and one assist over his last nine games and will struggle to reach 50 points if he keeps this up. You're better off benching him in most leagues until he corrects whatever is stopping him from contributing.
