  • Sorensen (undisclosed) produced an assist and 10 PIM in Friday's 5-2 win over the Kings. Sorensen had a helper on Patrick Marleau's go-ahead goal in the first period. After that, it was fight night for Sorensen, who twice dropped the gloves with Andreas Athanasiou, including once at the end of the game. The 29-year-old Sorensen isn't known for his toughness -- he has just 16 PIM in 25 outings after Friday's bouts. He's added five points, 26 shots on net and a minus-3 rating this year.

  • Sorenson (undisclosed) was on the ice for warmups and is expected to play Friday against the Kings, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Sorenson will return after missing just one game while dealing with some sort of nagging injury. The 24-year-old has four points in 24 games this season while averaging 12:06 of ice time per contest.

Sorensen was announced as a scratch before puck drop, and this explains why. It doesn't seem like the Swede's injury is too severe, but he's not guaranteed to be ready for Friday's game versus the Kings. Noah Gregor took Sorensen's place on the fourth line Tuesday.

Sorensen helped out on Rudolfs Balcers' goal in the second period as the Sharks' third line combined to open the scoring. The assist was Sorensen's second in his last four games. The Swede is at four points, 22 shots on net and six PIM through 19 contests, mainly in a bottom-six assignment.

The 28-year-old Sorensen missed the last eights games -- six while in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol and two as a healthy scratch. He's mostly seen bottom-six minutes when he plays.
