  • Walman inked a two-year contract with St. Louis on Thursday. Walman's deal will be a two-way contract in the first year before converting to a one-way in the second. While this likely means the blueliner will spend the bulk of the upcoming campaign in the minors, the organization clearly believes he can grow into a full-time NHL caliber player. With AHL San Antonio last year, the 24-year-old Toronto native racked up career-highs in both goals (eight) and assists (19). Walman made his NHL debut last year and should see a few more games in 2020-21 if/when injuries crop up.

  • Walman was reassigned to AHL San Antonio on Monday. Walman made his NHL debut in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Golden Knights, and he logged 11:04 of ice time. It doesn't make sense for the 23-year-old to be bouncing in and out of the lineup and playing minimal minutes when he does suit up, so he'll continue his development in the AHL ranks. Niko Mikkola was called up in a corresponding move.

  • Walman logged 11:04 of ice time and fired a shot on net in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Golden Knights. Walman teamed up with Robert Bortuzzo on the bottom pairing, but the former wasn't deployed on the power play or penalty kill. The 23-year-old's stint in the lineup will last as long as Colton Parayko (undisclosed) is out of the lineup, but considering Parayko took warmups before Saturday's game, it doesn't look like that will be much longer.

  • St. Louis recalled Walman from AHL Chicago on Friday. The Blues only had six healthy defensemen on their roster prior to Walman's promotion, so he'll round out the team's blue-line depth for the foreseeable future. The 23-year-old has notched 18 points in 32 AHL appearances this season.

  • Walman was shipped off to AHL Chicago on Monday. Walman was in St. Louis simply to provide emergency depth on the blue line, as he failed to crack the lineup. The Toronto native will return to the Wolves, for whom he has recorded two goals, 11 assists, and 14 PIM. The 21-year-old should remain atop the short list of potential call-ups should the Blues pick up additional injuries.
